My name is Kyle Kraiter. I am a glass blower from America and I am coming to Japan in January to learn about Japanese glass and culture. I have been blowing glass for 10 years in different countries such as New Zealand, Sweden, Singapore, Australia, and now Portland, OR USA. I would like to find a master glass blower to work with and also make my own work. I have visited Japan 2 times, but this time I want to stay for at least 6 months and work in a glass studio. I am hoping to visit southern Japan, but I am willing to travel any place for a good glass blowing opportunity. If you have any information that can help me I would be very thankful. I was also wondering what the normal wage is for assistants and gaffers in Japan. I am sorry about all the English. I am learning Japanese now.

今回日本に行くにあたり、日本の吹きガラスアーティストの方と一緒に作品を作ることのできる工房を探しています。日本へは二度ほど訪れたことがありますが、今回は吹きガラス工房で働きながら少なくとも半年は日本に滞在したいと思っています。場所はできれば北日本がいいのですが、素晴らしい吹きガラスに出会う機会があればどこにでも訪れるつもりです。もし私が探しているような工房を知っているなど、少しでも参考になるような情報がありましたら、是非教えていただけたら助かります。よろしくお願いします。それから、日本での吹きガラスアーティスト、そのアシスタントの平均収入はどのくらいなのかも知る手立てが無いので教えていただけたら幸いです。
